Things You'll Need
- Squirrel traps
- Roof repair equipment
- Squirrel repellent sprays and powder
Instructions
Use live traps to catch any squirrels currently living in your attic or ceiling. Squirrels will be difficult to get rid of if their babies or other family are still inside the house, so you must remove all squirrels before making attempts to keep them out. Use live traps to remove them because traps that kill can harm household pets.
Remove any food sources that might be attracting the squirrels to your property, such as bird feeders. The more food around your home that is accessible to squirrels, the more likely they will try and invade your home.
Inspect the exterior of your home to find out how the squirrels have been entering your home. Chances are there is a hole in the roof or a gap in the siding that is allowing these critters access to your home. Take all necessary steps to block these holes to ensure the squirrels can no longer enter.
Use squirrel repellent sprays and powders around your home and garden to keep the squirrels at bay. To prevent the squirrels from re-entering your ceiling, use repellant to make sure they stay away from your property altogether.
