Instructions

    • 1

Offer your sugar glider at least one type of fresh fruit and vegetable each day. Just like people, sugar gliders do not like to eat the same thing everyday, so try to vary what you feed them each day. Avoid canned fruits with high sugar content, and vegetables that are high in phosphorous such as corn, as these can cause your sugar glider to get sick.

    • 2

Give your sugar glider sources of fresh protein every day. Some suggest that only specially bought vitamin-enhanced insects are good sources of protein, but others believe that feeding pureed baby food meats and high protein baby type cereals can work well too.

    • 3

Sprinkle calcium and vitamin supplements on the fruit and vegetables each day to give your sugar glider the added nutrition that it needs.

    • 4

Serve the protein and fruits or vegetables at night when the sugar gliders are most active, and remove anything that might be left over in the morning.

    • 5

Place a staple type of food in the hanging food bowls within the sugar gliders cage. This is a food such as a specially made sugar glider mix. A specialty mix is best, but it can be substituted if necessary with high quality dry dog food. The sugar gliders will gnaw on this food throughout the day, and it should be left inside the cage unless it has become soiled.
