Are Numbats related to the squirrel?
Numbats are not closely related to squirrels. Although they are both small, furry mammals that live in trees, numbats are actually more closely related to marsupials like koalas and kangaroos. Numbats have a number of features that distinguish them from squirrels, such as their long, pointed noses, their prehensile tails, and their lack of cheek pouches.
