Where are Arizona woodpeckers found?

The Arizona woodpecker (Picoides arizonae) is found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Specifically, its range includes mountainous regions of Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of Texas, as well as the Sierra Madre Occidental and Sierra Madre Oriental in northern Mexico. Within these areas, it inhabits forests of various types, such as ponderosa pine, mixed-conifer, and oak woodlands, typically between elevations of 5,500 and 10,500 feet.
