What does the temperature have to be for a Puma?

Pumas, also known as mountain lions or cougars, are large felids that are found in a variety of habitats across the Americas. They are able to adapt to a wide range of temperatures, from the cold mountains of the Andes to the hot deserts of the Sonoran Desert. In general, pumas prefer temperatures between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C), but they can tolerate temperatures as low as -4°F (-20°C) and as high as 113°F (45°C).

To cope with cold temperatures, pumas have a thick coat of fur that helps to insulate them from the cold. They also have a layer of fat under their skin that helps to keep them warm. In hot temperatures, pumas will seek out shade and water to cool down. They may also pant or lick their fur to help cool down.
