Where can Thrush occur?

* Oral thrush: This is the most common type and occurs in the mouth and throat. It can cause white or yellow patches on the tongue, inside of the cheeks, and gums. It can also cause pain and difficulty swallowing.

* Esophageal thrush: This occurs in the esophagus, which is the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach. It can cause difficulty swallowing, chest pain, and nausea.

* Genital thrush: This occurs in the vagina or penis. It can cause itching, burning, and pain during urination.

* Systemic thrush: This is a rare type that occurs when thrush spreads to other parts of the body, such as the lungs, heart, or brain.
