How much babies do dolphins have?

A pod of dolphins may consist of several related females, their young, and perhaps a few related males. Most species give birth to one calf at a time, although some species give birth to twins. Births occur in shallow waters, and the mother gives birth to the calf tail-first. The newborn is buoyed to the surface by two family members, where it takes its first breath. Mothers and calves are inseparable during the first months of life. The entire pod also helps protect and care for the calves.
