What is size of talons?
Talons vary in size among different bird species. Some of the largest talons belong to birds of prey, like eagles and hawks, which use them to grasp and carry their prey. The talons of the Philippine eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), one of the largest eagles in the world, can measure up to 7 centimeters (2.8 inches) in length. In contrast, the talons of smaller birds, such as songbirds or hummingbirds, are much smaller and more delicate, used primarily for perching and gripping branches.
