Things You'll Need
- 1 ½ cup water
- 2 tbsp. light corn syrup
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
- Candy thermometer
- Cookie sheet or baking pan
- Waxed paper
Instructions
Bring the water to a full boil on the stove top in a saucepan.
Add the corn syrup, cream of tartar and sugar slowly. Stir the sugar water solution until the sugar dissolves.
Heat the mixture until it reaches 238 degrees F. Avoid stirring the mixture while it heats.
Remove the solution from the stove top. Allow it to cool until it feels slightly warm.
Stir the fondant solution until it thickens.
Line a cookie sheet or baking pan with waxed paper. Pour the fondant onto the cookie sheet.
Allow the fondant candy to harden. Break the fondant candy into small pieces.
