How to Make Fondant for Bees

Bees need nectar in order for them to stay alive. If the bees do not have enough nectar, the beekeeper needs to feed the hive. When the nectar supply diminishes in the winter, the bees have difficulty feeding themselves. While you can feed syrup to the bees, the cold weather makes it difficult in the winter. A homemade fondant or sugar candy effectively feeds the bees and it keeps the hive healthy.

  • 1 ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp. light corn syrup
