Instructions
Cut a piece of polar fleece in a color that matches or complements the T-shirt you intend to use for your bonding T-shirt. The polar fleece piece should be 7-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches.
Cut a rectangle out of the center of your polar fleece. The rectangle should be 2 inches by 4 inches. Discard the cut out piece.
Cut a piece of breathable mesh fabric that matches the color of your polar fleece. The mesh piece should be 2-1/2 inches by 4-1/2 inches.
Place your polar fleece piece on your work surface. Place the mesh rectangle over the hole in the polar fleece. Use straight pins to keep it in place. Use your sewing machine to stitch the mesh piece to the polar fleece. Remove the straight pins. This will make a window for your sugar glider. It will be able to see out but be shielded from the bright light of day which may be difficult on its nocturnal eyes. It also allows for better ventilation in the pouch to make it easier for your glider to breathe.
Cut the top inch off of your polar fleece pouch. This will give you two pieces. One piece will measure 1 inch by 7-1/2 inches and the other piece will measure 7-1/2 inches by 7-1/2 inches.
Use straight pins to attach a zipper to the two separate polar fleece pieces. Use your sewing machine to attach the zipper to the polar fleece pieces. Remove the straight pins and pull the zipper closed.
Attach the pouch, with its newly attached zipper, to the front center of your t-shirt. You want the pocket positioned in the center of your breast bone, in the center front of the T-shirt, with the zipper pointing up. Use straight pins to attach the pocket to the T-shirt and use your sewing machine to attach it. Remove the straight pins.
