How to Get Rid of Bats That You Poisoned

Bats are flying mammals that often take residence in home's attics. It is not a good idea to allow bats to continue to live in your home because they can carry various diseases, such as white nose syndrome and rabies. You can choose to kill your bats with poison. If you do, you must carefully dispose of the dead bats so that you do not contract any diseases.

Things You'll Need

  • Plastic gloves
  • Two plastic zipper bags
  • Disinfectant spray
  • Garden shovel
  • Hand soap

Instructions

      Put a pair of plastic gloves on your hands. You do not want your skin to come in contact with the bat.

      Use a garden shovel to pick up the bat. Drop the bat in to your first plastic zipper bag.

      Spray disinfectant in to the plastic bag for precautionary measures. Close the zipper tightly.

      Place the plastic bag that contains the dead bat inside another plastic zipper bag.

      Remove your plastic gloves and place them inside of the second plastic bag. Close that zipper tightly as well.

      Throw your plastic bag in to the garbage can, and wash your hands immediately.
