Tadpoles must be fed every day. If the water quality suffers it is an indication that the tadpoles are being fed too much. Tadpoles eat lettuce and other greens. Iceberg lettuce contains very little nutrition and therefore should be avoided.

Chop up a variety of greens to begin the tadpole food preparation. Put the chopped up greens into a plastic bag and freeze. When the greens are thawed they have a mushy texture that tadpoles can eat. When the tadpole food thaws to room temperature put a pinch into the tadpole's home and watch them enjoy.
