Understand that one of the quickest ways to make the ants retreat is to use baby powder on the ant trail. The baby powder will work as a great barrier and will keep the ants away for a while.

    • 2

Use black pepper. This is another great non-poisonous way to keep ants away. Just follow the ant trail to where it starts and sprinkle a lot of black pepper on it.

    • 3

Try vinegar. Simply take a spray bottle, fill with vinegar. Spray the vinegar anywhere you have seen the ants trail. The smell will quickly go away and the ants will disappear too.

    • 4

Fill a squirt bottle with Windex and Ivory Soap. Shake and spray the ant trails. This will help kill the ants.

    • 5

Terro which is basically a borax with sugar water mix. Put it on the trails you see outside. It will kill any ant that eats it. It doesn't work immediately, so there will be time for the ant to return to the nest and kill the whole colony.

    • 6

Boil some water. If you throw boiling water on the ants, you will be able to quickly kill them.

Buy multi-purpose cleaner with orange oil and spray on the ant trail.
