Instructions

    • 1

Lay eight squares of the wire shelving cube panels side by side. Shelving cubes like Great Cubes and Neat Idea Cubes come unassembled. Other cube shelving that come assembled will require you to disassemble them before beginning.

    • 2

Place another row of panels above the first row and line up the panels. Connect the panels together with three wire ties or zip ties on all the sides that touch. Space out the wire ties evenly.

    • 3

Make the floor of the cage. Lay out four cube squares to make a flat square, two panels wide and two panels tall. Tie the panels together with the plastic wire ties. Place three ties on each connecting side.

    • 4

Stand the eight by two panel unit up so it is two panels high and bend it into a square. Bend the unit and the connection points, with the wire ties, so each side is two panels wide and two panels tall. Bend the two end points together on one side to make a door. Reinforce the corners with two or more wire ties.

    • 5

Place the floor of the cage on top of the square you just made and attach it to the ends of the panels with six wire ties per side, except for the side that will be the door.

    • 6

Flip the cage so the floor of the cage is on the bottom and slide the piece of plywood into the cage from the top. Push the plywood all the way down until it sits flat on the cage floor.

    • 7

Cover the peg board with the carpet. Poke holes in the carpet at the location of six peg holes on one 28-inch side and three holes on each 14-inch side. Use the staple gun to attach the carpet to the peg board. Choose a side of the cage to place the shelf. Slide the peg board half way down one side of the cage and attach it to the walls with wire ties. Attach the top and bottom of the side panels on the door side with zip ties.

    • 8

Create the top of the cage in the same fashion as the floor and attach it with wire ties. Connect the three solid panels. Do not connect the door to the top.

    • 9

Close the door and hold it shut with bread ties or small ropes. This will allow you to open the door as needed.
